The Grande Prairie Arts Center will present its next stop of the Grande Prairie Arts Festival, the Photography category, starting this month. Center director Chuck Law said anyone can participate in the festival, which is a long-standing tradition.
“This is the start of our 66th year of presenting and producing the festival to the community. We are excited about the possibilities this year. We will have prizes, rewards, etc. Law said.
Entries can be dropped off at the center at 108 W. 12th St. in Stuttgart on Friday January 21 from noon to 5 pm and Saturday January 22 from 10 am to 2 pm. Registrations are $ 10 for adults and $ 3. For the young.
Many artists have entered works in the visual arts category of the festival. Law said he expects a similar turnout for the photography category.
“We’ve had over 90 works (of visual art) and we expect the same to be true with the photography division,” Law said. “We have a lot of photographers here in and around Arkansas County. “
Applications will be exposed from Friday January 28 to Saturday February 26. An artists reception and an open day will be organized for participating artists on Tuesday February 1 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
“We’re very excited. There is a high level of talent and expertise in South Arkansas both in the art of all mediums and in photography,” Law said.
Registration forms are now available online. Artists can pre-register their work before bringing it to the arts center.
“If for some reason you don’t have access to a computer or printer, come on January 21 or 22. We will have hard copies for you to fill out. We try to make participation as easy as possible for everyone, ”Law said.
